James Monaghan hails from South of Devon, where he spent a large amount of his childhood. During this time, James coached school rugby and cricket teams; ran the Combined Cadet Force; coordinated activities and spent 10 years as a Housemaster. James is a specialist physical geographer; weather and climate, tectonics and coastal environments are particular favourites of his.
He is also passionate about the origins of place and the movement of people and how these have changed over time. In a world that is, in so many ways, shrinking, he is particularly interested in how geography shapes our future and what the world will look like for our children. James enjoys all sports and competing in triathlons. His other passions include dystopian literature and film, and spending time with his family.
