Points out that improving the cross-border consumer credit market would generate European added value by boosting the internal market; considers that this could be achieved, inter alia, by better informing consumers about the opportunity to obtain consumer credit in other Member States and about the rights of consumers when concluding such contracts;.
Points out that one of the purposes of the Directive was to ensure the availability of information — thus facilitating the operation of the single market also in the field of credit — and that it is therefore necessary to evaluate whether the number of cross-border transactions is increasing;.
