He's been in custody without bail at Santa Rita Jail ever since. Opening statements in the case took place nearly two months ago , on June 24, before Judge Jason Chin. Over the course of the proceedings, prosecutor Natasha Jontulovich put more than 50 witnesses on the stand. Nearly all of the civilians called to testify said they did not want to be there and had only come to court because of subpoenas, arrests or other law enforcement pressure.
