The final event was a party with my friends mainly from the local area, but there was a circularity with the first event completed on the list. Both involved drinking alcohol and both involved the Taylor family, who have shared a number of these events with me. Lauren flew back from Dubai just for 66 hours to be at the party, Eleanor made a wonderful cake decorated with a number of the things on the list, while Graeme was proud to say he had nothing to do with the organisation! Looking back at the list, I have enjoyed most of them and there are a number which I would be happy to repeat, should the opportunity, time or money come around.
It has also been good to hear of others who have decided to compile some list of their own, although not always to the same scale. To those of you approaching milestones, why not think about new things to do and experience. So now I have to decide what to do next. There are still a couple of events to cover in this blog, so that needs to be completed first.
Perhaps will see me pick a few areas where I can learn new skills or improve from where I am now. More entertaining and cooking, better photography, doing more in the garden than just keeping up with the weeding, and so on. To those of you who have been sharing my journey over the last 18 months or so, thank you.
I hope you found it fun — do keep an eye out for the last two or three accounts in the next few days. I wish you well on your travels through the coming year and further on. Courtesy of a birthday present from Lauren of an experience voucher for a Jetski ride, Saturday morning found me driving down the M4 to Lagoona Park, a lake just off the motorway near Reading. This facility is dedicated to Jetski experiences and I was booked for the first session of the day. A few minutes tuition on how to operate the jetski — very basic, green button starts the pump, red button stops it, lanyard round the wrist as an emergency stop, pull the throttle to move.
